(nee Carey) On April 26, 93, a lifelong Haddonfield resident, loving mother of Anne Boyce (Dennis) of Texas and daughter of the late Frances Carey, a Haddonfield antiques dealer and James Carey, an attorney and local judge.
Johnson, a registered nurse, was employed by Children’s Hospital in Philadelphia, Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, Doctors Hospital in Washington D.C. and served as an officer in the U.S. Navy Nursing Corps during WWII.
Additionally, she had been a member of the Haddonfield Historical Society, the Preservation Society and served on the Board of Trustees at the Haddonfield Commons in the 80’s.
She also delivered the Philadelphia Inquirer to Commons’ residents from 1981–2005, as their “paper girl.” Services, private. Memorial donations in Johnson’s name may be made to Interfaith Caregivers, P.O. Box 186, Haddonfield, NJ 08033. Arrangements by Kain-Murphy Funeral Services of Haddonfield.
