Want to get rid of bulk trash? It’s now up to you, Medford taxpayers.
Under the 2011, some cuts have already been outlined with many more down the road if a proposed 25 percent increase in municipal taxes fails at the polls.
Whether or not the referendum passes won’t save the elimination of curbside bulk trash pickup, though — officials have announced the service is being curtailed immediately.
In lieu of pick up, the public works garage, located on Gravelly Hollow Road will be open every Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. until 2 p.m. You can take your bulk trash there.
Eventually, the garage will be closed on Saturdays, which is also one of the cuts outlined under the budget. However, the garage will remain open from 7 a.m. to noon on Saturdays until April 30.
Beginning the week of May 2, the garage will remain open after business hours Thursday evenings only, until 7 pm.
