Fields too wet for Cherokee athletics today

Because of wet conditions at the Cherokee High School varsity fields, several scrimmages have been cancelled for this afternoon.

Valerie Dolores, athletic and activities secretary of the school, said that the Lady Chiefs varsity and junior varsity scrimmages against Gloucester City High School have been cancelled. The fields are not playable due to the rainstorms from the past several days.

The varsity and junior varsity baseball scrimmages against Gloucester City High School have also been cancelled for today, she said.

A bus couldn’t be found at the last minute to make the games an away event at Gloucester City High School.

Stay tuned to see when the scrimmages will be made up.

Today’s track and field scrimmage at Cherokee High School against Haddon Heights High School and Timber Creek is still on.
