Antiques and art appraisal luncheon to benefit MAC

Collectors of fine art, antiques or antique jewelry are invited to bring one of their most precious objects to the Medford Arts Center’s version of the Antiques Road Show on Sunday, April 10 at Braddock’s Restaurant, located at 39 South Main Street.

The Art and Antiques Appraisal will begin with a luncheon at 1 p.m. and a cash bar will be available.

The objects to be valued will be arrayed on tables for the appraisers, who will discuss each one as the meal concludes.

Admission is $35 for members of the Medford Arts Center or $45 for nonmembers. Preregistration is required.

Reservations for the Antiques and Art Appraisal Luncheon may be made on line at www.ArtsinMedford.org, in person at the Medford Arts Center, located at 18 North Main Street on Friday, Saturday or Sunday afternoons, or by calling 609–654–6485.

Registration must be received by April 4.

Well-known Philadelphia antiques expert Ronald Schaffer, who formerly lived in an historic 1753 farmhouse in Vincentown, will appraise the antiques. Medford jeweler Jack Kronenberger will handle the antique jewelry and third-generation art restorer and appraiser Andrew Bertolino of Medford will value artworks of any era or genre.

Each registrant will be entitled to carry in one object. Since there won’t be room for furniture, attenders can bring photographs showing several views of their antique chair, table or highboy. Jewelry will be displayed in closed glass cases to insure security. Paintings or other works of art can be no larger than 36 inches in one direction since space is limited.
