Birdwood and Hopkins Lane neighborhoods to have their say

By ROBERT LINNEHAN

Two of the most vocal neighborhoods throughout the entire Bancroft redevelopment process will have their say tonight when they meet with representatives from the Clarke, Caton, and Hintz planning firm.

Residents of the Hopkins Lane and Birdwood neighborhood will meet with the planning board to share their thoughts on the redevelopment plan for the Bancroft property.

Throughout the course of the process many residents in these two neighborhoods shared their concerns over how the redevelopment of the property would increase traffic on Hopkins lane and their area. Especially with the plan for a CCRC, many of the neighbors said the increase of employees to the area would create congestion along the narrow roadway in front of the campus.

Several residents also felt and vocalized their thoughts that the redevelopment project was being “fast tracked” by borough commissioners though the process.

The meeting will be held at the Borough Hall auditorium at 7 p.m.
