Cherokee girls basketball have their next opponent

The Cherokee varsity girls basketball team learned who they will be facing Wednesday night in the next round of the playoffs.

The Cherokee squad, the fourth seeded team, will take on divisional rival Lenape High School, the fifth seed, tomorrow night at 5 p.m. in Cherokee High School. This is the second round of the NJSIAA playoffs.

Last night the girls defeated their Shawnee High School rivals by a score of 37–30 to advance to the second round. Meghan Wallace of Cherokee led the team in scoring with 12 points. Sara Farrell, a recent McDonalds All-American nominee, had nine points for the team.

Cherokee finished the regular season with a 16–7 record.
