Obituary: Florence C. (Kot) Lytle, 83.

Florence C. (Kot) Lytle, 83, of Toms River, passed away on Feb. 23, unexpectedly after surgery at Deborah Hospital. She frequently made long and happy stays in Haddonfield over many years at the home of her son, Terence, daughter-in-law, Teresa, and her beloved grandchildren, Terence and Rafael.

She worked for years as a supervisor of medical records at St. Joseph’s Hospital, Philadelphia. She relocated to Toms River in 1980. She retired as supervisor of medical records at Community Memorial Hospital, Toms River, in 1996.

While still in high school during WWII, she proudly volunteered to work at the Westinghouse defense plant assembling components for planes to be used in the war effort. As the child of Polish immigrants, she was proud of her Polish heritage and fluency in the language and enjoyed preparing Polish delicacies, reading, traveling, baking and had a keen sense of humor. In 1995, she traveled to Poland to visit the region of her parents. She was a graduate of Marymount College, Tarrytown, NY.

She is survived by her children, Christine (Philadelphia), William (Merritt Island, Fl), Brian (Keyport), John (Rumson) and Terence (Haddonfield); her grandchildren, Sean, John, Amanda, Michael, Jessica, William, Terence and Rafael; her sisters, Julie (Toms River), Jeanne (Washington Twp.) and Roberta (Burke, VA); and her daughters-in-law, Teresa, Anita and Theresa.

Viewing will be held on Sunday, Feb. 27, 2011 from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Quinn Hopping Funeral Home, Toms River. A funeral mass will be held Monday, Feb. 28, 2011 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Maximilian Kolbe Church, Toms River. Burial will be private. Donations may be made to St. Maximilian Kolbe Parish, P.O.
