Camden County has issued a winter weather advisory for Friday from 1 a.m. to 4 p.m. The county is preparing for about one to three inches of snow for the region and are salting/brining the county roadways to make for a smooth rush hour Friday morning.
The national weather advisory has predicted that snow could fall at a rate of an inch an hour during its heaviest point, which will likely coincide with the morning commute.
“The snow could stick quickly to untreated roadways,” said Freeholder Ian Leonard, liaison to the Camden County Department of Public Works. “Even on roadways that county crews have treated, you should be prepared for slippery conditions and limited visibility at times.”
Cherry Hill Department of Public Works crews will report to work at 4 a.m. Friday and will begin pre-treating the roadways ahead of the rush hour in an effort to keep the roads as safe as possible for morning commuters, according to the township.
Reduced visibility and other travel difficulties are expected in the morning. Drivers should exercise extreme caution when traveling during this time — allow extra time to reach your destination, and keep ample braking distance between yourself and other vehicles on the road.
