Rec. Department seeking boys high school ‘ballers

The Medford Township Department of Recreation is seeking basketball players in grades 9 through 12 to participate in a Boy’s Basketball League. This annual league provides an opportunity for high school aged boys to play some fun, yet competitive, basketball. Player evaluations will take place on Jan. 26. Individuals will be placed on teams for league play beginning Feb. 2.

A 10-week schedule, which includes playoffs and a championship game, will be provided once teams have been assigned. All regular season games will be played on Wednesday evenings between 6 and 10 p.m. in the gymnasium of Kirby’s Mill Elementary School located on Hartford Road in Medford.

Those interested in playing must be residents of Medford or Medford Lakes. The fee to participate is $40 per player, which includes team shirts and officials’ fees. Visit the Recreation Department’s Web site at www.medfordrec.com to complete an online registration form. Once the online form is complete, you may print it out and mail it with your payment to Medford Township Recreation Department, 17 N. Main St., Medford. Checks should be made payable to Medford Township. You may also drop off your registration form at the Recreation Department’s office Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. For more information about the Teen Boy’s Basketball League or any other recreation program, call 654–2512.
