Susan Rose, president and founder of the Lauren Rose Albert Foundation, will be the guest speaker at the Jan. 11 meeting of the Haddon Fortnightly Evening Membership Department.
The meeting will be held at 7:30 p.m., at the Clubhouse, Grove Street and Kings Highway.
Rose will begin her talk at 8 p.m. Rose is a 2010 recipient of the NJ Federation of Women’s Clubs Women of Achievement Award. Several of the South Jersey Women’s Clubs are active participants in the Foundation’s Mothers Matter Gift Basket program, which collects donated health and beauty products, packages them in beautiful gift bags and distributes them to mothers in need. Since 2001, more than 15,000 gift packages have brightened the lives of mothers facing difficult challenges. In addition to the Mothers Matter Gift Basket program, LRAF has awarded more than 300 book scholarships to income-eligible, head-of-household women in South Jersey and provides emergency grant assistance to mothers and their families facing critical and urgent emergencies that cannot be met through any other agency or government help.
