The nationally-recognized Symphony in C, under the leadership of Music Director, Rossen Milanov is proud to announce the appointment of Haddonfield resident, Megan Emigh as Principal Flautist beginning this season.
Emigh has soloed with orchestras in Switzerland, Japan, France and the United States in addition to her extensive chamber music and orchestral experience under world-renowned conductors including Michael Tilson Thomas and Danail Rachev. She has performed in masterclasses for acclaimed flautists worldwide such as Juilius Baker, Mathieu Dufour and Emmanuel Pahud and placed in international flute competitions she has participated in. In 2008, Megan received first prize in the Swiss Concours National d’Execution Musicale in Riddes.
Megan has been featured twice on NPR’s “From the Top,” once with famous soprano, Dawn Upshaw. This radio program has also given her the opportunity to appear on NBC’s “Today Show.”
A recent graduate of the Musik Akademie der Stadt Basil in Switzerland, Megan is currently working as a freelance musician and private flute instructor in and around where she resides in Haddonfield, NJ. She wishes to continue pursuing a career as a solo and chamber musician.
