A Marlton man who plead guilty to possession of child pornography this summer has been sentenced to four years in prison.

Edmund Arnold, 60, plead guilty to possession of more than 600 images of child pornography on a computer hard drive, which law enforcement officers seized in March 2009 from a local computer repair shop.

The images portrayed individuals under the age of 18, including numerous minors under the age of 12, engaged in sexually explicit conduct. The images also portrayed sadistic or masochistic conduct or other depictions of violence, according to a statement released by U.S. Attorney Paul J. Fishman.

Statements made in Camden federal court attested that Arnold possessed at least 41,849 images of child pornography and 1,059 videos.

Under the ruling of United States District Judge Noel L. Hillman, Arnold received a sentence of four years in prison in addition to five years of supervised release, a $3,000 fine, and an order to forfeit his computer equipment.
