The suspect had unscrewed the hasp on the storage area to gain entry. The total amount of stolen items was about $1,050.

While responding to another burglary at the same apartment complex, officers responded to a resident of the Linden Avenue apartment complex for stolen items from his storage area.

Officers found that his hasp had also been screwed off. The suspect stole several power tools and an Oriental rug, a total value of $1,300. The victim told the officers that several other tenants in the apartment building had experienced several similar incidents in the past few months.

A police officer from the Barrington Township Police Department called the Haddonfield Police Department and informed an officer that an anonymous phone call had been received on May 21 that tipped the department off to an underage drinking party on Concord Drive.

The officer told the Haddonfield officer that the caller said the parents of the home were out of town for the weekend and a juvenile party was being planned for the entire weekend. Officers arrived at the address at 8:14 p.m. and saw several juveniles running through the home.

The officers repeatedly knocked and rang the doorbell, but the juveniles would not come to the door. Finally, after several minutes, a juvenile opened the door. Officers asking the suspect if any adults were home and the juvenile said no. The officers entered and asked the assembled 37 juveniles if one of them lived in the house and nobody did. There were also two 18-year-old suspects at the party.

The officers noticed that the home had numerous beer cans and smelled of marijuana. After several moments, a juvenile entered the home and said he lived there and the officers informed him that he would be charged with hosting and underage alcohol party.

The parents of the juveniles were contacted and informed to come pick up their children. Nobody at the party was observed ingesting alcohol, possessing alcohol, or visibly intoxicated. Nobody was charged.

However, as the suspects were leaving with their parents, the officers searched their backpacks. A mother of one of the juvenile suspects was giving his friend a ride home and she told an officer that he smelled like marijuana. The officer agreed and asked the juvenile male suspect to remove his backpack and open it.

The officer found a bag that contained a sock and a lighter. There was something hard in the sock and the juvenile admitted that it contained a pipe. His mother was contacted and informed that her son would be charged with possession of drug paraphernalia.

The owner of the home was contacted and he returned to the house. He signed his juvenile son’s charge sheet and he was informed he would be charged with hosting an underage alcohol party.
