Following two recent residential burglaries, the Haddonfield Police Department is urging residents to keep their doors locked at all times, according to a press release issued Thursday afternoon.
“In both cases, it appears that the burglar entered the house through an unlocked front door,” Chief John Banning said. “In one case, the homeowner was inside the house at the time; in the other, the homeowner was outside, in the yard.”
Banning said the perpetrators were likely in and out of the residences quickly. Ladies’ purses were stolen.
“Do not leave doors unlocked, even when you are in the house or out in the yard,” Banning advised. “Also, be a good neighbor and keep a watchful eye on properties next door and across the street,” he added.
To report suspicious activity, Haddonfield residents should call the Police Department at 856–429–3000. In an emergency, call 9–1–1.
