Schools lose state aid

School Superintendent Alan Fegley issued the following statement Wednesday afternoon:

About an hour ago the Haddonfield School District was informed that it was being cut 1.5 million dollars in State Aid. This new level of cut is a 1.2 million dollars more than what we had been told we would not receive for the past two months.

By law the District is required to produce a tentative budget by next Monday, March 22, 2010 and a final budget by March 26, 2010. Many decisions will need to be made over the next few days. None of them will be pleasant.

As this process moves forward we will keep you informed.
