Three members of the board of education for the kindergarten through eighth grade district will be seeking re-election April 20.
Three, three-year seats are expiring this election. Three seats on the Eastern Regional High School District also are expiring.
Coordinator of Elementary Programs Irene Afek said no challengers applied to run for the three seats on the board by the March 1 deadline.
Incumbent Vice President Nancy Seigle, and incumbent members Dr. Gary Bennett and John Schmus all filed to run for their expiring seats.
All of the incumbents have been on the board for at least the past 14 years, Afek said.
The board of education has had the luxury of little to no turnover in the past several years, she said, which means all of the members are on the same page and working together to improve education for Voorhees students.
“We have such consistency and stability on the board, we’re very lucky,” Afek said. “The board members are committed to the education and well being of all of the students in our district.”
