Maura’s lead vocals range from comforting to yearning, from girlish to womanly, from exuberant to delicate, sometimes bolstered by her own sweet harmonies and those of Pete and several guests.

As usual, multi-instrumentalist Pete provides a vibrant tapestry of chiming, jangling and twanging guitars, as well as mandolin, keyboards, bass and drums, interwoven with Maura’s sturdy acoustic rhythm guitar, harmonica and glockenspiel.

Meaningful songs, gorgeous vocals, and wizardly instrumentation await you. Perkins Center for the Arts, 395 Kings Highway. Doors open 7:30 p.m.; concert starts 8:15 p.m. $15 includes coffee, tea and treats.

Youth softball sign-ups end Feb. 15

There’s still time to sign up for a springtime of softball fun with the Moorestown Youth Softball Association.

Students from kindergarten through age 12 can play softball on recreational teams, students ages 7 through 15 can participate in skills clinics, and seventh graders can receive free training to become paid league umpires.

Also, students age 10 to 18 can play on traveling softball teams sponsored by the township.

Online registration is continuing for the township’s five recreation softball leagues — available for students in grades Kindergarten (Tee Ball), first grade, second grade, third and fourth grades and fifth and sixth grades — for a cost of $80 per student. Registration is also continuing for four recreational travel teams including teams for Travel 10, 12, 14 and 18 year olds, for a fee of $100 per student.

Clinics, which cost $50 for a 4-week session, include basics to improve general softball skills as well as clinics to improve the skills of beginner, intermediate and experienced pitchers.

Again, clinics are for students ages 7 through 15.

Registration runs through Feb. 15, with a $25 late fee after Feb. 15.
