Local resident to be honored at Butterfly Ball

Phyllis Markoff, of Cherry Hill will be honored Saturday, Oct. 3, at The Butterfly Ball, Living Beyond Breast Cancer’s annual gala.
The gala will be held at the Loews Philadelphia Hotel and will feature a three-course meal, entertainment, an awards ceremony and live and silent auctions. Attendees will learn more about this year’s honorees: Aundreia Alexander, of King of Prussia; Elyse Spatz Caplan, of Lafayette Hill; Wendy Rutter Jonas, of Fort Washington. Ms. Caplan is LBBC’s education director and will receive the 2009 Founder’s Award.
The evening, planned by co-chairs Jacqueline and Eric Blumenfeld, Emily and Howard Cutler and Paulina and Byron Hewett, includes a grand prize drawing. One person will win the grand prize, a sparkling, custom-designed diamond tennis bracelet from Govberg Jewelers featuring 48 stones totaling over seven carats, value: $15,955. The second prize is a relaxing escape package at the Loews Philadelphia Hotel, including dinner and massages for two, value: $500.
Guests can bid on several items during a live auction, including:
n A one-week stay in the hills of Tuscany at the Villa Sassella in Lucca in a beautifully restored 14th century home.
•n An overnight getaway for four couples with deluxe accommodations at the Loews Philadelphia Hotel, a four-star hotel with a breathtaking view of the city skyline.
• A private, three-course tasting dinner for ten at Feast Your Eyes catering.
• An overnight spa getaway for two at The Lodge at Woodloch.
• A Ulysses Nardin diamond ladies watch with a petite stainless steel case, stunning diamond adorned mother of pearl dial and a 60-day power reserve.
All proceeds from the evening will go to Living Beyond Breast Cancer’s education and support programs.
Tickets to this exclusive event are available now and cost $300. The public also may purchase chances for the grand prize drawing from lbbc.org at $50 for one chance, $100 for three and $250 for 10; purchasers do not need to be present to win.
