Tuv Ha’Aretz offers organics

Tuv Ha’Aretz South Jersey proudly introduces the first Jewish Community-Supported Agriculture (CSA) program in South Jersey.

Founded by Hazon, www.Hazon.org, an organization dedicated to a healthier and more sustainable Jewish community, Tuv Ha’Aretz brings members of the Jewish community together with local organic farmers to support sustainable agriculture and Jewish environmental education.

Tuv Ha’Aretz boasts a total of 32 CSA programs nationally and internationally, and welcomes both Jewish and non-Jewish members. Through the programs, a stable base of customers supports partnering farmers, and member/shareholders receive delicious, organic produce throughout the growing season.

Temple Beth Sholom in Cherry Hill will graciously serve as the Institutional Partner and distribution site for Tuv Ha’Aretz in South Jersey.

For about the next 25 weeks, Honey Brook Organic Farm, located in Pennington and Chesterfield, will deliver boxed shares of organic produce to Temple Beth Sholom for the 103 households participating in this year’s program.

Members will receive weekly newsletters with information regarding the activities and progress of other Tuv Ha’Aretz programs, cooking tips and recipes, and local programming.

Additionally, Tuv Ha’Aretz will sponsor hands-on educational programs for members ranging from organic gardening and cooking demonstrations to experiencing “Organic Sukkot”.

Through the generosity of Tuv Ha’Aretz and Honey Brook Organic Farm, each week during the growing season, a minimum of two boxed shares of produce will be donated to a local shelter. For more information, contact Tuv Ha’Aretz at tuvhaaretzsnj@gmail.com.
