Harrison Township Historical Society’s coupon book promotes shopping local

The 2022 edition includes several new businesses, as well as most of those that participated last year.

The Harrison Township Historical Society’s 2022 shop local discount coupon book features deals from A (auto repairs) to Z (zucchini) at over 50 businesses in Mullica Hill, Ferrell and Richwood.

“Last year’s coupon book was a win-win for everyone,” the Society’s president Robert
Schumann said. “It encouraged patronage for our local businesses and helped fund the Society’s exhibitions at Old Town Hall Museum and our new programming at Richwood Academy Cultural Center.”

The 2022 edition includes several new businesses, as well as most of those that participated last year. “Some of our customers purchased the coupon book and immediately used the coupon for our offer,” said Curt Atkins, owner of Village Bagels in Mullica Hill. “Others recognized this as a good value and purchased books for gifts. This is a great shop local project that helps us and is also a benefit for the Historical Society. I am pleased that we can participate again this year.”

The book includes offers from the area’s well-known antiques and specialty shops, as well as salons, restaurants, grocery and farm markets. Mullica Hill’s Dunkin stores have again underwritten the publication.

“We are very grateful to Kenny Patel for Dunkin’s continued support for this project ,” added Schumann.

The books are now on sale for $10 each in Mullica Hill at Harrison House, 98 N. Main St.; 322 BBQ and The Old Mill Antique Mall, 1 S. Main St.; The Parsonage, 31 S. Main St.; Village Bagel, 108 Swedesboro Rd.; Yellow Garage Antiques Marketplace, 66 S. Main St.; Annie’s Cranny, 39 South Main St.; In the Village Salon and Spa, 109 N. Main St.; Langmore Salon, 35 S. Main St.; Serendipity, 19 S. Main St. and The Candy Box, 764 Lambs Road in Richwood. They are also available at Old Town Hall Museum, 62 South Main St. on Tuesday and Thursday mornings from 10 a.m. to noon.

The 2022 Christmas Ornament featuring Old Farmers Bank Building is also available at the Museum and the Harrison Township Municipal Building, proceeds from which will go to the Tornado Relief Fund. A limited number of the 2021 ornaments of Richwood Academy Cultural Center are also available.

“We are proud of our community,” said Schumann, “and the coupon book and ornaments are uniquely local holiday gifts.”

Old Town Hall Museum is open Tuesday and Thursday mornings from 10 a.m.to noon and by appointment. Look for information at the Society’s Facebook page.
