The Voorhees Township Police Department continues its efforts to keep our community safe and has implemented two new programs.
The police website www.vtpd.com will now allow site visitors to electronically submit vacation property check requests, police reports and vehicle accident reports. In addition, residents can sign up for and view live streams of our social media platforms, find crime prevention tips and much more. The site is mobile and tablet friendly as well.
The Police Department, in partnership with the Community Affairs Bureau, has initiated the Voorhees police “SAFECAM” camera registration program. It is a voluntary program that allows residents, businesses and organizations to notify the police if they have a security camera system. This notification does not give police access to the camera system, but allows the police to maintain the camera in their database for potential permitted review should a crime event occur in the area. Participating properties will receive a decal with the official Voorhees police “SAFECAM” logo that can be displayed as an additional deterrent to crime.
** Uber vehicles will provide free rides home to Voorhees residents patronizing participating restaurants/bars in Voorhees and Evesham through the Voorhees Saves Lives Program. Any Voorhees resident who opens the Uber app at one of the participating restaurants/bars will see a “safe ride” option at the bottom of the screen.
Rides will be provided from 9 p.m. — 2 a.m. through June 1, 2016. The free service will not be provided from one establishment to another.
** In an ongoing effort to continue to increase communication with our residents, Voorhees Township is now on Twitter and our Twitter name is @VoorheesTwp. There is a link on our website www.voorheesnj.com that you can click and it will direct you to our Twitter page.
