Moorestown Girls Tennis scores for Sept. 24 through Oct. 13

The Moorestown High School Girls Tennis team beat Hightstown 3–2 on Tuesday, Oct. 13.

In singles:

First Singles: Anusha Rangu of Hightstown defeated Moorestown’s Emily O’Neil 6–4, 6–3, 0–0.

Second Singles: Sahithi Muthyala of Hightstown defeated Moorestown’s Alex Boone 6–2, 6–1, 0–0.

Third Singles: Anna Mary Shetler of Moorestown defeated Hightstown’s Ritika Yadav 6–3, 6–2, 0–0.

In doubles:

First Doubles: Camilla Hoz de Vila and Andrea Giacobbo of Moorestown defeated Hightstown’s Victoria Velez and Sam Scully 6–1, 6–1, 0–0.

Second Doubles: Sarah Mounzer and Maddie Sherman of Moorestown defeated Hightstown’s Manasi Palle and Sreya Kilambi 4–6, 6–0, 7–5.

The Moorestown High School Girls Tennis team beat Northern Burlington Country Regional High School, 3.50-.50 on Oct. 8.

In singles:

First Singles: Jenna Granato of Northern Burlington drew with Moorestown’s Emily O’Neil 6–7 (1–7), 5–4, 0–0.

Second Singles: Alex Boone of Moorestown defeated Northern’s Bhoomi Dave 6–1, 6–0, 0–0.

Third Singles: Anna Mary Shetler of Moorestown defeated Northern’s Anjani Patel 6–1, 6–1, 0–0.

In doubles:

First Doubles: Camilla Hoz de Vila and Andrea Giacobbo of Moorestown defeated Northern’s Rachel Taylor and Anusha Keshireddy 6–1, 6–1, 0–0.

Second Doubles: Sarah Mounzer and Maddie Sherman of Moorestown defeated Northern’s Hailey Weiss and Carrie Alpin 6–0, 6–0, 0–0.

The Moorestown High School Girls Tennis team crushed Lawrence High School, 5–0 on Oct. 6.

In singles:

First Singles: Emily O’Neil of Moorestown defeated Lawrence’s Rachel Rubinstein 6–1, 6–0, 0–0.

Second Singles: Alex Boone of Moorestown defeated Lawrence’s Shiwanee Rangaswamy 6–2, 6–0, 0–0.

Third Singles: Anna Mary Shetler of Moorestown defeated Lawrence’s Sophie Gregrowski 6–1, 6–0, 0–0.

In doubles:

First Doubles: Andrea Giacobbo and Camilla Hoz de Vila of Moorestown defeated Lawrence’s Niharika Sahay and Jane Lin 6–0, 6–1, 0–0.

Second Doubles: Maddie Sherman and Sarah Mounzer of Moorestown defeated Lawrence’s Kate Halat and Maggie Toole 6–1, 6–1, 0–0.

The Moorestown High School Girls Tennis team swept Delran High School, 5–0 on Oct. 5.

In singles:

First Singles: Emily O’Neil of Moorestown defeated Delran’s Josephine Garcia 6–0, 6–0, 0–0.

Second Singles: Alex Boone of Moorestown defeated Delran’sEmma Essenmacher 6–2, 6–1, 0–0.

Third Singles: Anna Mary Shetler of Moorestown defeated Delran’s Amanda Korang 6–0, 6–0, 0–0.

In doubles:

First Doubles: Andrea Giacobbo and Camilla Hoz de Vila of Moorestown defeated Delran’s Madison Kaelin and Sinead Bauer 6–1, 6–0, 0–0.

Second Doubles: Maddie Sherman and Sarah Mounzer of Moorestown defeated Delran’s Disha Patel and Morgan Digney 6–2, 6–1, 0–0.

The following information was submitted by Jori Parise:

The 2015 Burlington County Open for Girls Tennis was held on Sept. 24 and 25. This tournament was attended by 15 teams: Willingboro, Palmyra, Seneca, Holy Cross, Northern Burlington, Shawnee, Lenape, Pemberton, Cherokee, Rancocas Valley, Delran, Burlington Township, Cinnaminson, Moorestown, and Moorestown Friends School. As a team, Moorestown won the Burlington County Open tournament.

From the eight High School teams involved in the 30th annual Moorestown Classic Girl Tennis Tournament, Cherry Hill East, Seneca, WWPN, Vineland, Westfield, Haddonfield, Pennsville, and Moorestown, Moorestown High School was the champion. In the finals MHS beat Cherry Hill East, 3–2.
